The AthFest Educates Board of Directors is now accepting applications for board members to begin in 2024. The ideal person for the volunteer position is passionate about creating opportunities to connect young people with music and the arts.

We are seeking board members who have prior experience serving on a nonprofit board or in a high-level executive position, who are goal-oriented, strategic and focused; able to navigate groups away from distractions and break down big ideas into manageable steps.

Michelle Davis
AthFest Educates Board Chair

“Each year as Board members roll off at the end of their term, we have new opportunities for the organization to grow and evolve. For 2024, we are focused on ramping up our grant program and putting a spotlight on the impact of our funding. So, if you are passionate about the arts, supporting disadvantaged youth, or have prior nonprofit or executive experience, we want to hear from you! As someone who has been on the Board for nearly seven years now, I can say without hesitation that working with AthFest Educates is profoundly rewarding and offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in our community.”
– Michelle Davis, Board Chair

AthFest Educates board members are expected to serve as stewards of the organization by supporting the purpose and mission of AthFest Educates. Further, board members are charged with ensuring, developing, and conserving the organization’s resources; interpreting the organization’s work and values to the community; and representing the organization.

Board members will attend bi-monthly board meetings as well as actively serve on at least one committee. Board members attend and represent the organization at the organization’s fundraisers, the AthFest Music & Arts Festival and the AthHalf Half Marathon & 5K, as well as at other AthFest Educates related events.
