AthFest Educates collaborates with our local schools and community organizations to make it possible to offer short-term artist-in-residence programs that help foster an appreciation of the arts.
Artists might team up with a classroom teacher for a one-day program designed to demonstrate their medium to students or they might join forces with the classroom teacher to deliver a multi-week program that ends with the students producing their own work using the artist’s medium. The final design of the artist-in-residence program will be determined by the artist and classroom teacher.

AthFest Educates collaborates with local schools and community organizations to coordinate lunch time, classroom, and after school musical performances that expose the school’s population to different genres of music and inspire a love of the arts.
Join the ranks of Athens musicians who have performed for local students in special classroom and cafeteria concerts. Artists such as Moths, Don Chambers and Goat, New Madrid, Kishi Bashi, and more have taken part in this awesome experience.
If you are interested in signing up to perform, (and yep, musicians do get paid to perform), please click on the “contact us” link below and tell us a bit about yourself or your band.
Event Volunteer Opportunities
Throughout the year, we have numerous opportunities to volunteer with AthFest Educates.
Our two major fundraisers, that AthFest Music & Arts Festival and the AthHalf Half Marathon & 5K rely greatly on volunteers for their success.
